Description

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni was spotted rolling her eyes and gesturing to her wrist as if to check an imaginary watch, as NATO leaders waited for the arrival of US President Joe Biden at the Summit in Washington DC on Thursday.

According to reports, the event was expected to begin at 10am local time, but eventually got underway 40 minutes later.

The 75th NATO Summit began in DC on July 11 and concluded on Thursday. Biden's behaviour has been under intense scrutiny since his much-criticised debate performance with Donald Trump, with a number of high profile gaffes.

At the Summit itself, he was caught reading a stage direction from the autocue during a medal ceremony with NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg. He later referred to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky as 'President Putin' and discussed his own vice president 'Trump' - confusing his Republican challenger with Kamala Harris.

Earlier, the White House was forced to deny he was being treated for Parkinson's after reports emerged that his doctor had met with a specialist.
