Description

Police officials were seen surrounding the house of the alleged gunman suspected of wounding former US president Donald Trump during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania just hours before.

Footage captured at Bethel Park early Sunday morning shows heightened security as vehicles going in and out of the vicinity were monitored by the police.

Law enforcement authorities named the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks but said they were still investigating a potential motive. The case is currently being considered a possible assassination attempt.

Trump was shot to his right ear while he was delivering his speech on Saturday. As shots were fired, he ducked behind his lectern and was surrounded by secret service agents before being taken out of the venue, while raising his fist into the air.

The alleged gunman was killed by the US Secret Service agents. Another attendee was also reported dead in the rally, with two others in critical condition.

Following the incident, President Joe Biden called it 'sick' and said that he had 'tried to get a hold of Donald.'

Other US politicians like the former president Barack Obama and Secretary of States Antony Blinken also condemned the attack.
