Description

Around 200 Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists gathered in front of Tottenham police station in the North of London to protest against a violent arrest of a 16 year-old-boy, on Saturday.

The protest was sparked by a viral video on social media showing a metropolitan police officer allegedly punching a black teenager in the face before arresting him on December 8.

"We are here protesting against police brutality. Specifically, we are here because a 16-year-old Black boy was attacked outside his school by three officers. And so there's quite a horrific video of that. It's just a demonstration of how black youths are dehumanised and adultified, because of the colour of their skin," said a protester who wanted to remain anonymous.

The police watchdog is currently investigating the footage. A statement released by the Metropolitan Police said, "it is important to remember that videos show a snap shot in time and the wider context is not immediately obvious."
