Description

Clashes broke out between anti-government protesters and riot police in Hong Kong as demonstrations intensified on China's National Day on Tuesday. Footage shows riot police advancing on activists and detaining activists some of whom were searched and detained.

Protesters took to the streets calling on Beijing to to abide by its 1984 agreement with the UK which guarantees the freedoms of Hong Kong citizens. Rallies were held across the city as the People's Republic of China is marking 70th anniversary of its founding.

Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by a now-withdrawn extradition bill since March. Rallies later evolved into a wider movement against the government.
