Several spokespeople of the German government held a press conference in Berlin on Friday, discussing an array of topics from the Russian vaccine to Nord Stream 2.
Regarding the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, Health Ministry spokesperson Sebastian Guelde said, "When the vaccine is approved, we can start to vaccinate in European soil. First, it is up to EMA that has started already with the approval procedure. Then EMA must receive details from the producer. Once this has been achieved, we could be talking about vaccinations in Europe and Germany."
When asked about Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and the US-issued ultimatum on the German-Russian venture, the German government spokesperson Steffen Seibert said, "As part of these conversations with the USA on this topic, which was originally announced, our position remains unchanged. We see extraterritorial sanctions as they were threatened and tightened by the USA. We brought them to their attention, and we will continue to do so."
When questioned about Navalny's remarks on prisons in Russia, Seibert said he was unaware of these comments and, therefore, could not comment on them.
