A Russian robot named Alex 'predicted' the victory of the French national team at Euro 2020, as seen in Perm, Sunday.
The neural network came to such a conclusion by analysing the qualifying matches and games played during the championship.
All players performances and even the coach’s career were also taken into account, according to Oleg Kivokurtsev, the development director of Promobot, the company behind Alex.
"We used more than 50 variables. And on the basis of this, we decided to guess who would be the winner. And our robot says with about 93 percent accuracy that it will be France. Of course, unfortunately, it’s impossible to give an accurate, one hundred percent forecast, because no matter what statistics, no matter how many variables, we still live in such a universe where chance decides," he said.
As Kivokurtsev also mentioned, the neural network system combines various neural networks including Elon Musk’s GPT-3 presented a few months ago.
On Monday, Didier Deschamps side faces Switzerland at the Arena National in Bucharest.
