US President Donald Trump gave his final remarks at the G20 Summit in Osaka on Saturday, in which he confirmed that he would potentially meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the DMZ.
"Kim Jong-un was very receptive," he said. "I said while I'm there we'll shake his hand, we get along. There's been no nuclear tests, there's been no long range ballistic tests, gave us back our hostages which was great."
"[It] might happen tomorrow. We won't call it a summit, we'll call it a handshake if it does happen, I'm literally visiting the DMZ," Trump continued and then explained how talks of a meeting took place.
"He follows my Twitter. I guess so because we got a call very quickly. A lot of people follow it," he said.
He went on to say that he would be 'very comfortable' walking over the DMZ border and into North Korea.
On his meeting with President Xi Jinping of China on the sidelines of the G20, Trump said that he would not be adding additional tariffs on Chinese goods but also 'promised for the time being we're not going to be lifting tariffs on China.'
Trump is due to visit the DMZ from the South Korean side on Sunday. He attempted to make the trip before but his helicopter was grounded due to the weather.
