Former militants were seen sorting their legal documentation and handing over weapons at a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) amnesty post in the city of Tafas, Daraa governorate, on Saturday following a Russian-brokered truce agreement.
A number of weapons, ammunitions and missiles were collected at the amnesty point.
As part of the truce deal, Russian forces and the SAA are setting up checkpoints in the area, running a weapons amnesty programme, and are set to conduct weapon-seeking inspections in local buildings.
Earlier this month the Syrian Arab Army and Russian forces took control of the southern towns of al-Yadudah and Daraa, following truce agreements with local leadership.
