Players from Germany's national team were seen training at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Sunday in preparation for their UEFA Nations League clash against long-term rivals, the Netherlands.

Footage shows German head coach Julian Nagelsmann arriving at the training session and watching his squad perform a series of drills from the sidelines.

During a pre-game press conference, Nagelsmann said he feels Germany has made 'a lot of progress' since crashing out of Euro 2024 after being beaten by eventual champions Spain.

"Yes, I'm already very pleased with what the team brings to the pitch and how it designs the games," the German coach said.

"Now, we'll just have to make sure that we hopefully win the Nations League, then make the World Cup qualifiers positive and then play a good World Cup."

Nagelsmann also recalled the 2-2 tie in Amsterdam in September, the last time Germany and the Netherlands went head-to-head.

"That was a very interesting game with a good opponent. It was an intense game in Amsterdam, which was exciting, I think. The outcome was okay from our point of view," Nagelsmann said.

"I think we were the better team. We had more chances. I believe we'll be able to win. We'll try that tomorrow," he continued.

Meanwhile, Dutch head coach Ronald Koeman insisted that Germany will not be a 'weaker' side without outgoing stars Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos.

"Of course, they meant a lot for German soccer. But that also gives the Bundesliga coaches time and time again to fit youth in. And after Germany's presentations, I think it's good. And Germany is always a strong country, no matter who is there or not," he said.

Germany defeated Hungary 5-0 in their first match of the tournament before picking up a second win over Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1 on Friday. The Netherlands have also shown impressive form and have gone unbeaten in three Nations League ties.

A German victory at the Allianz Arena on Monday would put the Germans five points ahead of the Dutch, and with games against weaker teams Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary to come, it would place Nagelsmann's side with good odds of reaching the quarter-finals.
