The Armenian Church of the Martyrs in Raqqa has been regaining its historic look as reconstruction works continued three years after the city was liberated from the self-proclaimed Islamic State.
Footage filmed on Sunday shows the complex which was destroyed when the group took over.
"Since we entered Raqqa after liberating it, we discovered that the extent of the damage was huge. Residential neighbourhoods, main streets, and religious centres were all destroyed," said Ahmed ElKhodr, a local engineer.
The local municipality commissioned the church to be rebuilt to allow worshippers, most of whom left, to return to the city.
