US President Joe Biden addressed the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on its third day on Tuesday, with the continuation of World Leaders Summit.
Biden pledged up to 9 billion dollars of US funds until 2030 to "conserve and restore our forests" during his address. The 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) kicked off with an opening plenary on Sunday, 31 October.
Under the UK presidency, together with Italy, the COP26 set four main goals: To secure global net-zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees Celsius within reach, to adapt to protect communities and natural habitats, to mobilise finance and work together in order to make the Paris Agreement operational.
"Let's get to work, we can do this, and it'll have a generational impact," Biden concluded.
