Description

The aftermath of an alleged Israeli airstrike on the town of Al-Nasiriyah in the Bekaa Valley, eastern Lebanon, was seen on Wednesday.

Footage shows several houses reduced to rubble, with smoke still rising from the attack.

"We have lost 13 martyrs and nine wounded, including four children… we are ready to sacrifice everything precious, for the sake of the line and for the sake of the resistance,” said Abdullah Zain El-Din, one of the locals.

"They are farmers working in the land,” claimed Abu Ali, another local. Lebanon's national news agency reported a series of raids on the Bekaa Valley. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, a total of 16 people were killed and 17 others injured.

The Israeli military confirmed it had launched a series of raids in the Baalbek area and north of the Litani River on Wednesday. It added that '60 terrorists' from Hezbollah were 'neutralised' in these raids, with warplanes hitting '20 terrorist targets', including rocket launchers and weapons depots.

Israel has conducted a ground incursion into parts of southern Lebanon, as well as an ongoing campaign of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets since September. Lebanon's Ministry of Health stated that over 3,000 have been killed and over 13,600 injured at time of publication.

The current escalation between Israel and Hezbollah began in September with explosions of wireless communications devices used by Hezbollah, which killed dozens and injured thousands. The sides have exchanged cross-border strikes since the outbreak of the 2023 Gaza war.
