Relatives of 12-year-old Alma Mohammed Ghanem Ja'rour, the young girl reportedly pulled alive from the rubble of her uncle's home in Rafah, say she is grappling with a 'state of extreme panic' after losing her family amid the fighting in Gaza.

"My father and mother alongside my siblings were martyred," the girl stated. "They initially had bombarded Yarmouk Street and our house there, I and my mother and siblings were injured so we relocated to my father's uncle's house, again they shelled the adjacent house, and had injuries, eventually we fled to our uncle's house, but it was shelled and all of them were martyred."

Footage shows Alma playing with her cousins inside a tent at a refugee camp in Rafah, where she is now under the care of her uncle, Sami al-Haddad.

"Alma's story is that all her family were martyred under the rubble of the building where the carnage took place. No one survived, including her uncles and grandmother," Haddad said.

"Alma is the sole survivor from that building after being retrieved by the civil defence staff from under the rubble after three hours," he continued.

Haddad added that Alma has been left in a 'distressing' psychological state following the incident and frequently dreams of her deceased parents.

"We have to give her the needed psychological comfort and support. Regardless of what we offer, the tenderness of her mother, father, and siblings cannot be replaced," he said.

Over a million displaced Palestinians have fled to Rafah, in the southern tip of Gaza following evacuation orders and Israeli ground incursions in the north of the enclave. The IDF claims that only Hamas locations and infrastructure are targeted in the current campaign.

Israel has warned of a potential offensive on Rafah if Palestinian militant group Hamas fails to release its remaining hostages before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Fighting continues in the sixth month of the Israel-Hamas war. The militant group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

Israel declared war on the group and a 'complete siege' of Gaza, with a large-scale campaign of air strikes. A ground incursion began at the end of the third week, with Israeli leaders vowing to 'wipe out' Hamas.

At time of publications the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported a death toll of 30,000 , with 71,000 injured, mostly women and children, in addition to thousands still missing under the rubble.
