Description

Thousands of worshippers around Bosnia and Herzegovina attended prayers to celebrate Eid al-Adha, or Kurban-Bajram as it's known in Bosnian, on Tuesday. The main ceremony was held at the Gazi-Husrev-Beg mosque in Sarajevo, the capital of the country, led by The Grand Mufti of Bosnia Husein Kavazovic.

"I would like Eid to be a time when we will strengthen our bonds, and where we will renew old friendships and start new ones. It is the destiny of people to grow, believe, and think. But it is also their destiny to live together, work and exchange goods that they acquire in peace," stated Kavazovic.

Some worshippers attended the prayers in Bosnia and Herzegovina wearing masks to protect themselves against COVID-19.

Earlier this month, the country's first case of the Delta variant of the coronavirus has been confirmed, according to the regional news channel N1.
