An oil depot was captured in flames after Israel launched strikes on what they claim to be 'Houthi military targets' in Yemen's coastal city of al Hudaydah on Saturday night.
Local media announced that airstrikes had targeted the city's oil storage and refining facilities, leading to the massive fire outbreak.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) claimed responsibility for the attack in an announcement on their official Telegram channel.
"IDF fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the area of the al Hudaydah Port in Yemen in response to the hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months," the statement said.
Sanaa's Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that at least three had been killed and another 87 wounded in the strikes.
Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denounced the attack, stating that their forces will "not hesitate to strike vital Israeli targets," in response.
This attack comes after Houthi forces launched a drone strike on Tel Aviv on Friday, reportedly killing one and injuring at least 10 others.
Following the attack, Saree declared "the occupied Jaffa region [Tel Aviv] an unsafe area" and added that 'it will be a primary target' for the Yemeni forces.
