Real Madrid's coach Carlo Ancellotti hinted at a potential experiment against FC Barcelona during a press conference on the eve of the 257th edition of the El Clasico and expressed confidence that Vinicius Junior will one day win the Ballon d'Or.

"I have something in mind but I don't think it's right to explain it to you today, you have to see it tomorrow and then tell me if I'm wrong or not," Ancelotti said.

"Fortunately, nobody is keeping me awake at the moment," he added while admitting that it was difficult to pick a favourite for Saturdays match.

Footage shows the players and training staff during a practice session ahead of the match. Ancelotti went on to praise his team's opponent, noting that ‘they are doing very well, in a game like the El Clasico or a derby.’

Ancelotti also praised Vinicius Junior expressing confidence that the 24-year-old will win the Ballon d'Or calling him an exceptional footballer.

He described him as "a boy who is still very humble, who has progressed a lot as a footballer, becoming one of the best in the world, I think nobody doubts that he will win the golden ball [Ballon d'Or]. And all while maintaining the same humility and seriousness that he had when I first met him," the coach said.

Saturday's 257th edition of El Clasico has been fuelled by the respective teams' successful performances in the UEFA Champions League this week. Real Madrid snatched a 5-2 win against Borussia Dortmund after trailing 0-2, while FC Barcelona beat FC Bayern 4-1.

The teams will face off on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid at 21:00 local time.
