Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in London on Friday.
Footage shows Al Nahyan and Blinken engaging in talks alongsidethe American and Emirati delegations. The politicians can also be seen exchanging handshakes and hugs following their meeting.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the pair discussed Abu Dhabi and Washington's bilateral relations and strategic partnership.
The two diplomats also discussed "regional and international issues of mutual concern, foremost among them the current situation in the Middle East and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip."
The ministry added that Al Nahyan and Blinken agreed on the immediate need to secure a ceasefire in the ongoing fighting in Gaza. They also discussed the latest developments in Lebanon.
The United Arab Emirates is actively providing humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip through its 'Chivalrous Knight' campaign. Additionally, the UAE has launched the 'UAE Stands with You, Lebanon' initiative, which is focused on delivering aid to the Lebanese population through both aerial and maritime channels.
