Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas received the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Monday in Ramallah in order to discuss the next steps following the ceasefire, including the reconstruction of Gaza.
The visit is a part of Egypt’s efforts to mediate between Palestine and Israel following ceasefire which Egypt managed to broker between the two sides.
On May 18, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced pledged a package of $500 million (€409 million) to helping reconstruction efforts in Gaza, following the Israeli bombings.
