Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson outlined Iran’s intentions for the resumption of nuclear talks in Vienna, in Tehran on Monday.

“No, there will be no bilateral talks with the US delegation,” outlined Saeed Khatibzadeh. “If the United States comes [to Vienna] to lift the sanctions, comes to the actual lifting of the sanctions, it can certainly get a ticket back to the JCPOA room; otherwise, it will remain outside the JCPOA table,” continued Khatibzadeh.

Iran is set to resume nuclear negotiations in Vienna with world powers in an attempt to restore the pact which the United States abandoned three years ago.

Iran, Germany, France, Russia, China and the United Kingdom are attending the talks in the Austrian capital on Monday. Iran refused to hold direct talks with the US since it is not currently a member of the accord.

Iran will hope to have economic sanctions placed on it by the US lifted if a new deal is reached.
