Operations were still ongoing on Friday as Lebanese civil defence workers tried to put out the last remnants of the fire the broke out in Beirut port a day earlier.
"We work with our full capabilities, and this is what we possess, and we are able to meet the need as volunteers and employees. The main goal remains to extinguish the fire, and this is what we are working toward," said Gorge Abo Mousa who acts as the Director of Operations in Lebanese Civil Defense.
The blaze occurred just over a month after the city was rocked by a series of explosions on August 4, killing at least 190 people, injuring 6,500, and displacing over 300,000.
The blasts triggered violent protests which forced the previous cabinet to resign.
