Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that his country would 'make our own decisions' despite 'suggestions' from the British and German foreign ministers during meetings in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

"I have just come from a meeting with the British and German foreign ministers. Last night, I spoke with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and soon I will speak with additional leaders," he outlined.

"I thank our friends for their support in defence of Israel and I say this support in both words and deeds. They also have all kinds of suggestions and advice, which I appreciate; however, I would also like to clarify, that we will make our own decisions," he continued.

The PM added that his government would approve the 'Tekuma plan' to rebuild communities 'in the Western Negev' following the Hamas attack in October.

"The Hamas terrorists sought to uproot us. We will uproot them and deepen our roots. We will build the Land of Israel and safeguard our state," he said.

Earlier German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and UK Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron met with Netanyahu to discuss his pledge to hit back at Iran following last weekend's large-scale strikes on Israel. Tehran claimed it was a response to the airstrike on its Damascus consulate earlier this month, while Israel has not claimed responsibility for that earlier attack.

Israel's allies have repeatedly warned Israel against taking further action in Iran, while Tehran has said it would launch a 'much bigger' offensive if Israel targeted Iranian territory.
