Description

Hundreds of members of the French-Lebanese community gathered in Paris on Sunday to demand an end to the war between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as the cessation of arms sales to the Israeli army.

Footage captured demonstrators waving Lebanese flags and holding signs that read "Stop the war, ceasefire' and "Your arms kill our children."

"The enormous aid provided by the so-called democratic and liberal regimes of Western countries to Lebanon is provided by the same that sends billions of weapons to Israel. For the moment, frankly, I am very pessimistic. The means of resistance, whether Palestinian or Lebanese, are very minimal compared to all this force. Despite this, people resist; they continue to resist. In any case, there is only resistance that can change the situation," said Abderrahim.

Helena, another demonstrator, stated that the French-Lebanese community has sent aid to the ones still in Lebanon and said that she ‘counts on France’ to end the current conflict.

“We are counting on others to stop all these attacks and all these aggressions and establish a ceasefire as quickly as possible,” she declared.

Israel is conducting a ground incursion into parts of southern Lebanon as well as an ongoing campaign of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, over 2,200 people have been killed in the aerial attacks.

The current escalation began last month with explosions of wireless communications devices used by Hezbollah, which killed dozens and injured thousands. The sides have exchanged cross-border strikes since the outbreak of the 2023 Gaza war.
