Barcelona Head Coach Hans-Dieter Flick vowed his side would 'give our all' during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of the third-round UEFA Champions League tie against fellow European titans Bayern Munich.

"Now, we must think only about Bayern. The rest doesn't interest us," Flick said. "It has helped us a lot to go step by step, without thinking about the next game, but to think about the game in front of us."

"They have a lot of confidence in themselves. It's an excellent team with extraordinary players. Everyone wants to play against the best, and this is what we are here for, to play football," he continued.

Barcelona has been defeated by Bayern in their last six meetings, their longest losing streak to any club other than domestic rivals Real Madrid. Flick dismissed the past, saying it's all about the 'here and now'.

"What happened in the past we can't influence, but we can influence what happens tomorrow. And we want to be well prepared to give our all and try to beat Bayern," he said.

Flick is no stranger to Bayern fans, having previously led the German side to Champions League victory in 2020. He broke club records after taking the helm in 2019, with 22 wins in his first 25 fixtures.

Later, midfielder Rafinha responded to reports that fans were buying Barcelona shirts with his own 'number 11' and Welsh footballer Neco Williams' name over the summer as rumours surrounding his imminent replacement swirled.

"It was a bad joke, in my opinion. People have to respect the players of the club who try to give their best during the season. Seeing a photo like that doesn't sit well with you; it didn't sit well with me," Rafinha told the press.

"It was a lack of respect. Ultimately, the shirts are there, and people put the names they want on them, but I felt that way," he added.

Barcelona will take on Bayern Munich at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night.
