Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant addressed Tel Aviv's attack on an oil depot in Yemen in a video address to the public on Saturday.

"The fire currently burning in Hudaydah is seen across the Middle East and the significance is clear," the minister said. "The Houthis attacked us over 200 times. The first time that they harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them - and we will do this in any place where it may be required."

"The blood of Israeli citizens has a price. This has been made clear in Lebanon, in Gaza, in Yemen and in other places - if they dare to attack us, the result will be identical," he continued.

Gallant's statement comes after the IDF launched an operation targeting oil storage facilities in the coastal city of al Hudaydah on Saturday evening.

"IDF fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the area of the al Hudaydah Port in Yemen in response to the hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months," the IDF said in a statement on their official Telegram channel.

Sanaa's Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that at least three had been killed and another 87 wounded in the strikes.

Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denounced the attack, stating that their forces will "not hesitate to strike vital Israeli targets," in response.

This attack comes after Houthi forces launched a drone attack on Tel Aviv on Friday, reportedly killing one and injuring at least 10 others.

Following the attack, Saree declared "the occupied Jaffa region [Tel Aviv] an unsafe area" and added that 'it will be a primary target' for the Yemeni forces.
