Thousands of people took to the streets of Hanau on Saturday, to commemorate the victims who died in a shooting attack in the German city on Wednesday night.
An estimate of 2,000 people marched through Heumarkt and Kesselstadt districts of Hanau, where ten people were fatally shot by a 43-year-old gunman on Wednesday evening.
Footage shows people marching with banners condemning fascist and racist acts, as well as calling for 'international solidarity.' After the march, the protesters held a rally where they called out the names of the identified victims in remembrance.
Whilst the German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer described the Hanau shooting as a 'racially motivated terror attack' during a press conference in Berlin earlier on Friday, South Hessen police released a statement on Saturday asking to 'stop speculating online' about the reasons behind the shooting.
