The border gridlock began to ease off on Thursday after the EU and the UK announced a Brexit agreement. Around 1,600 lorries were reported to still remain in the area where the army took over COVID-19 testing.
''I am very sorry the way they were treated. I am sure it was not intentional but it seems extraordinary that we could'nt provide food and loos and al the rest of it, because we were supposed to be ready for the Brexit date," said Richard, a local resident.
