Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited an IDF base near the Lebanese border on Sunday, where he vowed to 'win' the fight against Hezbollah.

"You are the heroes of glory. You - together with your friends, the IDF soldiers and the security forces in Gaza, in the Yosh, in the entire region - you create wonders, you are lions," Netanyahu said.

"The whole world is amazed at the blows you inflict on our enemies, and I salute you and tell you that you are the generation of victory. Together, we will fight, and together we will win," he continued.

The footage also shows the Israeli PM attending a 'security situation assessment' with the Northern Command's Major General Uri Gordin and the commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Moran Omer.

"During which they reviewed the deployment of forces in Lebanese territory, the operational achievements achieved, and the follow-up goals," the Israeli government's press office said in a statement.

It comes after Israel announced it had launched a 'limited' ground incursion into Lebanon last Tuesday following the latest wave of air strikes on Hezbollah targets.

The IDF bombing campaign began on September 23, with more than 2,000 people killed and nearly 10,000 injured at the time of publication, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Last Friday, an attack on Beirut's southern suburb killed Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and others. Iran launched a wave of missiles on Tuesday, which is said was in response to that assassination and others.

Tensions in southern Lebanon escalated in mid-September after mass explosions of pagers and handheld radios belonging to Hezbollah. The group has exchanged cross-border fire with Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
