Indian inventor Sebin Saji from Erumely, Kerala State, showed off his 'world's smallest washing machine', which broke the Guinness World Record earlier this year.

Footage captured on Sunday features Sebin Saji loading the washing machine and demonstrating its work. He is seen pouring water, putting cloth into the tiny gadget and starting the cycle by pressing a small button.

"I thought the washing machine was the right device which is related to electronics. I am an electronics engineer, so I took this concept, Guinness also has the category for smallest washing machine, so I decided to attempt," Sebin said, adding that it took him two months to create the machine.

Being small but still workable, the machine has the functions similar to the full-size household gadgets, although is obviously not practical for daily use.

The inventor also shared his desire to have his own start-up company, and added that he already has a 'good team' with eight members who work on 'new innovative projects for the future.'

He also said that his parents were 'very happy' with his achievement.

"I was dreaming of achieving the Guinness World Record, and when he told me about his plans, I immediately supported him and encouraged him to attempt it," added Sebin's father.

Sebin Saji was awarded by the Guinness World Record Commission on April 19 for the smallest washing machine with a size 32,5 by 33,6 by 38,7 millimetres and a weight of approximately 25 grams. Previous record holder Sai Tirumalaneedi from Andhra Pradesh made the washing machine 37 by 41 by 43 millimetres.
