According to local media, thousands of emergency workers from all over the country, hundreds of emergency vehicles and five helitankers were deployed to aid the fire containment efforts.

The blaze broke out approximately at 11:00 am local time on Wednesday, spreading to several other cities and villages of Shanxi province including Huangmuyuan, Gaocheng, Sanhe Gu and Anze. Strong Winds have reportedly caused the rapid spread of the fire.
