Description

Residents of Atlanta took part in an event hosted by Zoo Atlanta on Saturday to bid farewell to four giant pandas, which are heading to China at the end of October.

Footage shows long queues outside the zoo as well as visitors taking pictures and admiring the animals inside the enclosures.

"I just know it is really special to have them here, and I'm sad they are going to be leaving. I wish I saw them more, but maybe one day we will get them back," said Bria Landis, one of the visitors.

According to local media reports, this year marks the end of the zoo's 25-year agreement with China, which was intended to promote the conservation of giant pandas.

It is also reported that since their arrival, Zoo Atlanta has invested $17 million in the conservation of giant pandas.
