Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi remarked that “we never pin hope on Vienna and New York” while speaking at an event commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, in Tehran on Friday.
Raisi pointed instead to neighbouring countries for support. “We pin our hope on Khuzestan, Khorasan, Azerbaijan, and the east, west, north, and south of the country,” he told attendees.
Speaking about Iran’s international relations, Raisi added “our foreign policy is having a balance in foreign relations. Looking to the West has made the country unbalanced. We must look at all the countries and all the capacities of the world, especially the neighbours.”
There are celebrations across Iran on Friday to mark the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
