According to reports, the vessel arrived several days ago to complete the remaining 160 kilometres of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Footage shows the vessel docked next to sections of pipeline.
US sanctions have delayed the laying of the pipeline which was initially meant to be completed by the end of 2019.
On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be finished despite the current difficulties, following an online meeting of the Council of the Baltic Sea States foreign ministers.
