Description

A Boeing 747-400 of Iraqi Airways with migrants on board took off from the Minsk National Airport to the Iraqi city of Erbil, the airport press office reported on Thursday.

Footage shows migrants waiting in a queue for check-in prior to the flight.

According to the airport's press office, 427 passengers checked in for the flight, including 12 children under the age of two.

In November, several flights with a total of more than 1,000 migrants had departed to Iraq.

A migrant crisis escalated earlier this month after thousands of migrants set up tent camps on the Belarus-Poland border and attempted to cross the frontier.

EU has accused Lukashenko of orchestrating the migrant flow as part of a 'hybrid war' designed to pressure the bloc over sanctions. Minsk has denied the allegations.
