Description

Thousands of people joined a climate march on Saturday in Amsterdam as part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.

The protest was organised by dozens of environmental organisations and was held in the same week as the COP26 summit on climate change in Scotland.

“The deals that have been made aren’t binding enough, not enough countries have signed them and there just haven't been enough deals made and they are not strong enough,” said Joshua Paans, a member of the Dutch branch of the Fridays for Future movement.

“It’s always good to have some form of agreement but it’s quite disappointing,” added Paans.

The protest was organised by Fridays For Future in The Netherlands, Greenpeace, Extinction Rebellion, and Oxfam Novib, among other organisations.
