Football Club Barcelona players began training with the team's new head coach, Hans-Dieter 'Hansi' Flick, on Friday in Barcelona.

Footage shows the Catalan club's players exercising and performing drills on the pitch together with Thiago Alcantara, the club's assistant coach, as Flick supervises the training session. FC Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, could also be seen talking to the new head coach.

Hansi Flick is a retired German professional football player who started his managerial career in 1996 in Germany, before working as head coach of the German national team before taking the reins at FC Barcelona from club legend Xavi Hernandez on May 29.

Flick's new assignment makes him the third German coach in the club's history, after Hennes Weisweiler and Udo Lattek. He has a contract with the club until June 30, 2026.
