"I feel they're doing amazing. I'm so happy having so much fun watching them and I think it's so fun watching them earn the medals, earn the gold, bronze, all of them," a local said. "You guys are doing great. You're doing amazing representing Australia. We love you all. You're doing amazing."

Another local stated that the athletes are 'trying their best', adding "you can tell that they're putting their heart and soul into everything they do and I just hope they bring more medals back."

Australia’s Olympic team currently won 17 medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the time of publication, raking in seven gold, six silver, and four bronze titles.

According to the team’s official website, both public and private buildings, famous landmarks, sporting grounds and local councils across the nation were scheduled to light up its national colours on the eve of 'Green and Gold Day' which will be held on August 2 this year.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, running from 26 July to 11 August, will feature 329 events across 32 sports, followed by the Paralympic Games from 28 August to 8 September.
