Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said that the next round of nuclear talks are expected to be announced in less than ninety days while speaking at a Tehran press conference on Monday.

Khatibzadeh noted that Iranian authorities were holding discussions on the topic of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Vienna talks “every day, without interruption” at “the expert level.”

The spokesperson also said that while the discussions were “not over yet”, the authorities “will not even waste an hour and will announce a new date.”

“Of course, I do not think that it will take as long as the ninety days which it took Mr. Biden's government to come to Vienna,” explained Khatibzadeh

“If you count, and if I am not mistaken, it is less than fifty-five days, it has been for about fifty or fifty-five days that Mr. Raisi's government is in power and has accepted responsibility. So I do not think it will take as long as ninety days,” added Khatibzadeh.

As part of the press conference, Khatibzadeh also touched on the relations between Moscow and Tehran, discussed security concerns in Iraqi Kurdistan and expressed criticism for the Biden administration.
