Iranian lawmakers set out their six conditions for the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with global powers in a letter to President Ebrahim Raisi, reading out the proposals at a parliamentary session in Tehran, on Sunday.
The letter, signed by 250 out of 290 MPs, says the Western parties should guarantee not to exit a renewed deal, nor trigger the "snapback mechanism" where sanctions on Iran can be reinstated if it is seen to violate nuclear compliance.
"We have to learn a lesson from past experiences and put a red line on the national interest by not committing to any agreement without obtaining necessary guarantees first," Iranian Parliamentary Secretary Seyed Mohsen Dehnavi said to parliament, reading from the document.
The announcement arrives amid the final steps in plans to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement in Vienna, with EU officials suggesting an agreement could be reached soon.
