Description

Two Irish Wolfhounds and a Scottish Deerhound dressed up as little lions in support of England, known as the Three Lions by supporters, at their owner's home in Kesgrave, near Ipswich, on Monday.

None of the proud pooches displayed any of the nerves so typical ahead of an England knockout game, with a crunch Round of 16 fixture against arch-rivals Germany taking place on Tuesday in London.

The trio - Arthur, Elliot, and Grace - rather optimistically predicted a 2-1 victory in favour of the Three Lions, a scoreline which would send England through to face either Sweden or Ukraine in the quarter-finals.

"I just thought well everyone's had such a horrible year and if it's going to make someone smile for five minutes, you know, good," said owner Julie Grimwood, on dressing up her dogs.

Despite having not lost, many fans are frustrated with England's performances so far - having only found the back of the net twice in their opening three fixtures - and will be hoping for more attacking flair when Die Mannschaft pay a visit to Wembley on Tuesday evening.
