Georgia Democratic candidate for the Senate Jon Ossoff delivered a victory speech from Atlanta, on Wednesday, after the runoff elections in his state the previous day. No official results have yet been delivered with the race being too close to call according to US media outlets.
In a video message, Ossoff thanked Georgia voters for their support and promised to represent them with 'integrity, humility, and honour.'
"Whether you were for me or against me, I'll be for you in the US Senate. I will serve all the people of this state. I will give everything I've got to ensuring that Georgia's interests are represented in the US Senate," he said.
At the time of publishing, 98 percent of the vote has been reported, with Ossoff leading by 0.4 percent.
Ossoff is one of two Democratic candidates running in the runoff elections taking place in the state, the results of which will determine which party will hold a majority in the US Senate.
Democrats need both Ossoff, and fellow candidate Raphael Warnock to win their seats to give President-elect Joe Biden control of the United States' Senate.
