Description

An Iranian delegation landed in Kiev on Thursday to hold talks with the Ukrainian authorities about compensation for the relatives of those who died on Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752.

"We tried to start the negotiation for a long time and I would like to point out that the process moved from the sticking point. It is not going to be easy but we will work toward a result: the achievement of justice," stressed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba.

He also added that Ukraine will do everything possible to get the maximum compensation for the families of deceased in order to "ease the pain of relatives who have been grieving for six months now".

On January 8, shortly after departure from Khomeini airport to Kiev, the Boeing-737 of Ukrainian International Airlines (UAI) with 176 passengers on board was shot down mistakenly by Iran's armed forces.

On January 11, Iran confirmed that armed forces of the republic "unintentionally" downed the passenger jet which was passing near an active combat zone.

All 176 people on board of the plane, including passengers and crew members, died.
