Activists could be seen preparing humanitarian aid for people who remain stuck at the border between Poland and Belarus, in Michalowo on Tuesday.
Volunteers from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity set up a storage filled with aid goods, such as food and water, sleeping bags and coats, as well as baby nutrition, among other things, to be provided to the activists and migrants who are facing harsh conditions, as they have settled in the woods near the small town in Eastern Poland.
"We are basically the second-line help. We are the storage where activists can come and take some equipment. They can receive sleeping bags and food, which they later use in the forest," said volunteer Justyna, adding "We basically answer the needs which we receive from activists, foundations who work on the frontline, who help in the forests. They are telling us what they need and we are providing it."
Thousands of migrants, including whole families, women and small children, remain in limbo at the border between Belarus and Poland, hoping to cross into the European Union eventually.
