Description

A group of people including white police officers gathered to wash the feet of black religious leaders in a symbolic act of unity after George Floyd's killing, in Cary, North Carolina, on Saturday.

Police officers and other community members kneeled down and washed the feet of pastors Faith and Soboma Wokoma, asking for forgiveness and joining a moment of prayer.

The ceremony followed a unity prayer walk organised by the two pastors, with participants observing eight minutes and 46 seconds of silence to mark the amount of time Floyd laid on the ground with an officer knee pressed on his neck.

Demonstrations and protests continue to sweep across the country and worldwide, calling for an end to police brutality and racism.
