Iran nuclear deal negotiators have purportedly agreed to consider a proposal drafted by Tehran to serve as the basis for the ongoing JCPOA talks in Vienna, on Friday.
"Regarding two main documents, first, the draft on the (removal of) the sanctions, the other side accepted the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the basis for dialogue. Accordingly, a new document was placed as the basis of the talks in the field of sanctions, which is different from the document that was finalised in the Vienna-6 talks," said Ali Bagheri-Kani who acts as Iranian deputy foreign minister for political affairs and Iran's top nuclear negotiator at the Vienna talks. Bagheri-Kani's comments came after the meeting of the JCPOA Joint Commission, which was attended by representatives of Iran, the P4+1, and the European Union in Palais Coburg.
Talks have been ongoing to revive the Iran nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which the Donald Trump administration left in 2018.
