Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his country's support for the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA), during a conference held in Ankara on Tuesday.
"Putschist Haftar and his supporters' invasion plan of Tripoli, Libya resulted in defeat, thank god. Internationally-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) completely succeeded in weeding out putschists from Tripoli," said Erdogan.
"Until peace, serenity and justice is secured in the whole of Libya, we will continue to support our Libyan brothers," he added.
The president also commented on Idlib, and insisted that Turkey would not accept an re-escalation of conflict in the region.
Regarding COVID-19, Erdogan announced that Turkish medical researchers had synthesised the drug Favipiravir, which has been used to treat symptoms arising from the disease.
The statements came after announcements about loosening the country's coronavirus restrictions further, which effectively ended curfews for certain age groups and will allow cinemas and performance halls to resume within new guidelines after July 1.
The previous weekend was the country's first without a total curfew in several weeks. Most public places such as parks and restaurants have reopened with reduced hours and hygiene restrictions.
