Joe Biden joked about the things he'd love to do as president - but had been told he couldn't by his staff - during a meeting with the Gotham FC women's football team at the White House on Monday.

"You know, I thought when I got to be president, I’d get to do things that I want to do. But my staff tells me what I can’t do, but I am going to do it anyway," he told them, before asking everyone to join him. "All the young women, young kids out there, come on up and do this for me, stand up behind me here, come on."

The team won the National Women's Soccer League last season.

Biden pulled out of this year's presidential race in July, following a number of high profile gaffes, concerns in the media about his health, and a much-criticised debate showing with Donald Trump.
