Description

A sculpture dedicated to Breonna Taylor and installed in Oakland's Latham Square was smashed in an act of vandalism over the weekend, just two weeks after being unveiled, Monday.

Oakland resident, Judith, commented on the incident, "[There's] a lot of drug addiction, a lot of homelessness, people are crazy. There are a lot of really disturbed people who hang out and semi-live around here and I have no idea... It could be based on what it was... It could be a white supremacist but there's no way to know."

Breonna Taylor was a Black woman who died at the age of 26 after being shot by police in Louisville, Kentucky during a raid on her apartment earlier this year.
