Description

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Wednesday, as the British diplomat visited the region in the wake of the recent hostilities.

Earlier in the day Raab met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after arriving in Israel on Tuesday evening.

According to Twitter statement by the British diplomat he "reaffirmed UK support for a two-state solution as the only way to bring sustainable peace" at his meeting with Abbas.

An Egyptian-mediate ceasefire was reached between Israel and Palestinian militants on Thursday, bringing to an end the worst outbreak of violence since 2014, that left 12 Israelis and 248 Palestinians dead after 11 days of hostilities.
