Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah delivered a speech on Tuesday in Beirut to mark the 21st anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day.

Nasrallah apologized for failing to speak in public since Jerusalem day, despite the significance of the recent events relating to the Israeli-Palestinian hostilities, indicating it was due to his illness.

During his speech, Hezbollah Secretary-General warned the Israeli leadership that “harming the holy city, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites will not stop at the borders of the Gaza resistance.”

He added, “the equation that we must reach is: Jerusalem in exchange for a regional war. Jerusalem means a regional war, meaning all resistance movements cannot stand and watch if the Holy City and the holy sites when they are in real and serious danger.”

The speech is his first address following the ceasefire announcement between Israel and Palestine, which was agreed last Thursday with the mediation of Egypt. The conflict lasted for 11 days and led to 248 fatalities on the Palestinian side and 12 on the Israeli side, according to the respective authorities.

The Lebanese Liberation Day marks the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the territory in Southern Lebanon, putting an end to the South Lebanon conflict that lasted 15 years.
