Description

Eyewitnesses captured the flight of a Boeing 737-800 airliner while the moon was at its lowest position in 19 years in St Petersburg on Saturday.

Footage shows the aircraft flying across the night sky, illuminated as it passes across the Earth’s natural satellite.

On Saturday night, people in various parts of the world were able to observe a full moon. This lunar spectacle occurred on the summer solstice, when the Sun rises to its highest point above the horizon, while the moon reaches its lowest point.

The current full moon is also known as a 'strawberry moon', taking its name from traditions of North American native indian tribes, as it matched the short harvest season for the delicious berry.
